Realised I'd forgotten to write a profile. So, um, well.... I'm 19 and I live in New Zealand. I've played piano since i was just a wee thing. Started playing guitar when I was 12. Didn't take lessons, just used my musical knowlege and dove straight into song writing. When I was 14 my family and I took a year trip round Europe. We were based on a on a barge on a french canal for about 3 months, so I used to take off on my bike into the vinyards with my guitar on my back. This is where I discovered lots of little tricks and my own songwriting technique. After that it was all uphill really. I dumped my crappy old Fender when my parents bought me an Ovation for my 16th (the exact same model John Lennon used ;) haha) Then I eventually dumped that when my parents recently (and stressed that it would be the last time) bought me the most beautiful guitar I've ever played. It's a really really nice Taylor. All of my recordings on the site at the moment are with my Ovation however.

I don't own or play an electric. I guess that will be my next step.

My biggest influence in the world is Ani Difranco.

I really love this site. It's a great home-base for musicians.

On My Own

There's a feeling that we've all had at some point in our lives, when you suddenly realise that you've REALLY screwed something up and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. No amount of regret or feeling sorry for yourself is gonna change a thing ... nor will it change the fact that it was entirely your fault.

Here's a song about that feeling ...

Obligations

Um, wrote this on the otherside of New Zealand. It's about admitting you're wrong basically :)

VERSE 1

There’s a place,
Where the worn becomes the new.
Few people know that it exsists,
Where redemption’s just admittance away.

And dignity will stay,
If situations are level with your head.

My,
What time.
I thought there for a while that i had won.
What a joke,
Falling prey to circumstance light years away.

CHORUS:

It’s a heavy obligation when you’re singing your own song.
And you’ve only just been told that you’re singing it all wrong.
And you think the words can’t change you’ve been singing them too long.

It’s a heavy obligation X3

But there’s a place you can go,
To lighten the load.

VERSE 2

March,
Fell.
April came and went and turned to may.
Today, here I stand clutching on to shame.
Won’t let up,
Waiting here for something to erupt.

Still,
It stays.
Locked inside my body aching maze.
And I’m right.
Right?

CHORUS:
